Preservatives

Preservatives are chemical substances, which can be artificial or natural, responsible for inhibiting the proliferation of microorganisms, such as fungi and bacteria, which cause deterioration in the product.

COSMOSERV MPE

It is a formaldehyde-free liquid preservative with a broad spectrum of action for the control of bacteria, yeasts and molds. can be used in rinse off and leave-on applications. It is not affected by changes in pH, being particularly suitable for the replacement of parabens and formaldehyde in cosmetics, and is not affected by the presence of proteins or protein hydrolysates in the formulation.

Administration: Shampoos, hair creams with and without rinses, makeup, eye area products and body creams.

Suggested use: from 0.4 to 0.8%

A modern, broad-spectrum preservative, it acts with great performance on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It has excellent fungicidal activity for the additional control of molds and yeasts, a very important property for products with pH below neutral. It also works well in alkaline pH. It is completely soluble in water, which makes it easy to use. It can be used at up to 80°C.

Administration: Shampoos, hair creams with and without rinses, makeup, eye area products and body creams.

Suggested use: from 0.6 to 1.0%. Maximum dosage of 1.1%

Regulatory Status: Approved for use in Europe, USA and Japan.

COSMOSERV PHDG

Modern broad-spectrum preservative, it acts on Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative. Has excellent fungicidal activity for additional control of molds and yeasts, with excellent performance in acid or alkaline pH. How it is insoluble in water, it must be mixed with the essence, propylene glycol, amide or 
during hot emulsion up to 80°C.

Administration: Shampoos, hair creams with and without rinses, makeup, eye care products, hair ointment and body creams.

Suggested use: from 0.6 to 1.0%. Maximum dosage 1.1%

Regulatory Status: Approved for use in Europe, USA and Japan.

COSMOSERV PHC

It is a broad-spectrum liquid preservative, effective in controlling
Gram-negative and with the association of chlorophenesin gains fungicidal activity to the control of molds and yeasts. Great for products with a pH below neutral. It also performs well in alkaline pH. can be added before or after emulsions, but not above 60°C.

Administration: Shampoos, hair creams, gels, creams moisturizers and hand cream.

Suggested use: from 0.6 to 1.0%

Regulatory Status: Released in EU, US and Japan by 1.4%.

COSMOSERV PE

INCI: Phenoxyethanol

It is a broad-spectrum preservative, and particularly effective as a bactericide. in the control of Gram-negative organisms. It is usually associated with other preservatives for full protection. Can be used in products with and without rinse. It should be added at temperatures below 45°C and it is stable in the presence of acids and alkalis.

Administration: Shampoos, hair creams, gels, lotions body care, sunscreen and makeup.

Suggested use: from 0.3 to 1.0%.

Regulatory Status: Up to 1% in EU, US and Japan.

COSMOSERV PC

Highly effective preservative in the fight against bacteria, molds and yeasts. In low concentration of use it provides high effectiveness. the concentration The maximum recommended use for the COSMOSERV PC is 0.10% by weight, over the total formulation, equivalent to 15 mg/kg of active ingredient. the hardness of water does not change the effectiveness. Magnesium salts can be used as a thickener without any damage. Use only in rinse-off products.

Administration: Shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath and liquid soaps.

Suggested use: from 0.05 to 0.1%

COSMOSERV DMH

INCI: DMDM Hydantoin

Free of halogens and parabens, it is highly effective against Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative, released for rinse-off and rinse-off products. It works well in the pH range between 3.00 and 9.00 and withstands temperatures up to 60°C. It has low fungicidal action. Due to its high water solubility, Cosmoserv DMH is compatible with most aqueous cosmetic formulations. Unlike many other preservatives, high temperatures are not required to incorporate it.

Administration: Shampoo, hair creams, sunscreen, eye cream and hair gel.

Suggested use: from 0.2 to 0.6%.

Regulatory Status: Permitted Use in the European Union and USA. Its use is not allowed in Japan.

COSMOSERV CX

INCI: Methylchloroisothiazolinone,

The synergy of Bronopol, which is a halogenated derivative with the of isothiazolinones provides a greater spectrum of action and improves considerably its performance as a preservative of cosmetic products water based. COSMOSERV CX is not formaldehyde generator, is not ethoxylated and does not
contains phenolic derivatives. It has a very low content of volatile organics (VOC). Compatible with anionic, nonionic and cationic formulations and has low toxicity.

Administration: Ideal for rinse-off cosmetics

Suggested use: from 0.1 to 0.2%

COSMOSERV PHB

INCI: Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate

CAS: 122-99-6, 532-32-1

It is a preservative with effective action in the control of yeasts and bacteria, guaranteeing complete protection for liquid products. It is free from parabens, isothiazolinones, halogenated derivatives and aldehydes. It is a preservative of easy handling and incorporation into the manufacturing process, it even withstands temperatures of up to 70°C.

Administration: Ideal for non-rinse-off cosmetics such as body lotions, face creams, hair gels and leave-in hair creams.

Suggested use: from 0.2 to 0.6%
